Premio Coatlicue

Con profunda tristeza les comunicamos que Anne Hill de Mayagoitia, galardonada en 2021 con Premio y Homenaje Coatlicue por su valiosa aportación a la cultura nacional como promotora y fundadora de la Sociedad Filarmónica de Mujeres en la Música y en el Arte «Isabel Mayagoitia».

Anne Hamilton Hill Kinsella (Anne Hill de Mayagoitia)

Nació en los Estados Unidos de América. Traductora y lingüista, su trabajo se ha centrado en la traducción del español al inglés de libros y documentos en las áreas de asuntos legales, turismo, arte, música y gastronomía. Su actividad profesional también se ha centrado en la asesoría lingüística, la corrección de estilo y de redacción, así como cuidado de edición.

Ann Hamilton es perito traductor e intérprete en idiomas inglés, francés e italiano, reconocida por el Consejo de la Judicatura Federal. También es traductora certificada por la American Translators Association para traducciones del español al inglés y del inglés al español.

Se graduó con honores en Lenguas Neolatinas en la Rice University, en Houston, Texas. Obtuvo un diploma en Estudios Hispánicos por la Universidad de Madrid. Asimismo, en el área legal tiene una formación muy sólida por los diplomados en derecho corporativo y financiero, derecho administrativo y comercial y en negocios internacionales por la Universidad Panamericana.

Ann es la creadora del concepto y propietaria de los derechos de autor del Compendio del Medio Artístico, una publicación anual muy reconocida y de amplia difusión, entre el año 1988 y el año 2000, que comprende un directorio del mundo cultural en México, una agenda por semanas y un directorio personal. Ella personalmente se encargó de todos los detalles de la producción de esta obra: diseño, actualización, producción, difusión y ventas.

Award  and Homage Coatlicue

The lack of awards for women artists in Mexico prompted us in ComuArte to create awards inspired in prehispanic  feminine deities. Crafted by Yolanda Gonzalez and Catherine Gilbert. Followers of the traditional Mexican pottery.

We have created awards for outstanding women artists of tireless efforts throughout their career and cultural labor, such as the Award Socorro Bastida, dancer.

In 2020 we created the Coatlicue Award given by ComuArte to outstanding women artists. In Music, it was granted to the first woman conductor of the Orchestra graduated in the Mozarteum of Salzburg, the Mexican Isabel Mayagoitia; to Composer Consuelo Velázquez; painter Leonora Carrington; writer Elena Poniatowska; journalist Lydia Cacho, and communicator Carmen Aristegui, among other outstanding women artists.

This year, 2021, the Award and Homage go to cultural promoter Anne Hill.

Anne Hamilton Hill Kinsella

Born in the United States.Translator and linguist, whose work has been the Spanish-English translation of books, legal documents, tourism, art, music and gastronomy. She’s also advisor in linguistics, style and drafting, as well as editing.

She is translator and interpreter in English, French and Italian, certified by the American Translators Association for English- Spanish- English translations.

She graduated suma cum laude in Neolatin tongues, at Rice University, Houston, Texas. And at Madrid University, Spain, she received a diploma in Hispanic Studies.

In the legal translations area she has a sound  academic formation in corporate law, finances and  international business at Universidad Panamericana.

Ann is the creator and copy right owner of the Compendio del Medio Artístico  a renowned yearly publication (1988-2000) comprising a directory of the cultural world in Mexico. She produced the compendium in all the stages from design to sales.
